I missed your light in density
Still
I miss you with intensity
Or the notion of who I would have turned out to be
In my child-like flights of fantasy
I missed my light incessantly
Searching
For who I thought you might turn out to be
Or even the fading possibility
That you would come and rescue me
We missed our chance to make history
Settling
For the roles of victim and absentee
Living our lives chronologically
Denying what our hearts knew fervently
We missed us in this reality
So
We bond together energetically
Without our failures or insecurities
Filling voids created by complacency
And now our love grows endlessly
