Troubled Bridge

Troubled bridge over muddied waters
Affairs stripped of all cares
Undaunted laughs of sons and daughters
They too sink unaware

In the place that swallows all dreams whole
A resounding crushing waste
The drought that wrinkles every soul
Donning a youthful face

In the space that shrinks visions down to size
A confounding bitter taste
Postulations fragmented into lies
As fodder for the case

In the brace that slows motions down in time
A compounding tempoed race
The strides relegated to our prime
Now refuse to give us chase

Troubled bridge over muddied waters
Take note of fading stares
Redeem the laughs of sons and daughters
They too rise with our flares
