The survival program teaches us to do the most with the least. Things are patched and held together with bare minimum supplies, and we learn to live and be happy with the minimum. We are taught to compare what we have against what others don’t have and to be grateful we are not as bad off as they are. In reaction we hold on even tighter to the things born of scarcity.

Living in the present moment is paired with an unending focus on gratitude. The beauty that escapes a scattered mind is the center of a mind that chooses to focus on the present. This center allows us to see the things we have patched together for survival in the light of gratitude. The light of gratitude gets taller and wider, deeper and brighter the longer we dwell inside. Soon we are able to see the possibilities available beyond our accustomed scarcity.
Scarcity can feel comfortable as we become increasingly accomplished in knowing how to survive. We may even start wearing our ability to “make due” as a badge of honor. This can lead to ignoring the possibilities beyond the life we have settled for. We begin to defend our survival mode, even when what we really want is to have the things we need to flourish and thrive.

We must remember that scarcity is a derivative of fear, which keeps us small and out of place. Creators know they can make something from nothing and nowhere, but there comes a time when expansion is necessary. With expansion comes the need for the right time and resources for the fulfillment of the destiny within. Perhaps we need the right physical space, the right amount of natural light, or to be surrounded by the right spot in nature. The scarcity mindset will lead us to believe that these are luxuries, but they are not. They are the expansion that the light of gratitude reveals to us as we partner in our own creativity and fulfillment.
The Universe is progressive and greatly desires that we bring our lives forward in its fullest expression. Full expression is not achieved though scarcity, but through the development of and trust in our unique vision. This often requires a reprogramming of our beliefs about ourselves and our lives. There is no one outside of the self who will give us the time or permission to develop our vision. We must determine that all-needs met is a part of our own self worth and allow ourselves to be guided in that direction.

We often want external sources to validate our desire to have these basic needs met, but we must feel our worth innately. We are responsible for creating the beauty that can only be born of our individual talent. We must make the decision for ourselves that we are worthy of having all needs met as a foundation for flourishing growth.
Motivating Questions
Here are a few questions to help us move away from the scarcity mindset and towards greater life expression:
What is holding me back from living the life of my dreams?
What legacy do I want to leave behind?
What resources do I currently have that would help bring my vision to life?
What additional resources would help bring my vision to life?
What am I afraid of?
What is the first step in overcoming my fears?
